In 2024, the Chalmers Foundation announced a $1.5 million initiative to enhance and expand the Cancer Support Program, aiming to provide free and accessible community-based services to individuals with lived-cancer experience and their caregivers within Area 3 of the Horizon Health Network.
The Cancer Support Program is dedicated to helping individuals navigate the emotional, social, physical, and practical challenges of living with cancer. Through a range of offerings, including Exercise & Movement, Education & Self-Development, Symptom Management, and Peer Support, the program aims to provide holistic support beyond the clinical setting. Its goal is to enhance the overall quality of life for participants by offering comprehensive, community-based support throughout their cancer journey.
The Cancer Support Program is free of charge to individuals with lived-cancer experiences, as well as their caregivers, at any stage of their journey, thanks to the generous support of donors and community partners of the Chalmers Foundation.
